Hi,
Just thought I'd mention the fact that Caltrans have gone one step further and planted some more trees on the slope in front of the new freeway sound wall.......hopefully these will survive the first few years and maybe grow into someting to hide the wall, my estimate is around 15 years to become something similar to those that were removed. Home owners in Cal Crest are still pushing for the landscape where the wall ends to also be replaced (this was...

Hi Everyone, I just thought everyone should know about a recent situation with a emty home for sale along Edgcliff in Cal Crest.
A Uhaul van pulled up on a Friday afternoon and offloaded some boxes, later that evening there was a loud party with a Disco and flashing lights in the back yard which was now full of teenagers, the Police were called at 11.00 pm and the party was promptly closed down, most of the teenagers left but a few hung...

I will make contact with CD7 and request some action in re planting the pepper trees or some bushes that grow quickly, this will help block the wall and hide the local gangs handy work and also absorb some of the increased noise level from the freeway traffic. If everyone on here also makes contact with a complaint perhaps they will do something about this unsightly problem which will only get worse. I feel the objective of ...

As for the repairs to the damaged Carey Ranch Park fence on Laurel Canyon and Crestknoll....... nobody seems to know what is going on at all, I intend to contact CD7 and try and get some update.
Update 12/17/2010
Good news! Seven months later they have begun to repair the Park fence!!!
Bad news- they removed the damaged panels days(weeks?) ago so there is foot access to the park from Laural Canyon.
Hopefully it will be repaired soon.

The contractor who built the wall still has possession of it.
After it is turned over to Cal Trans GB will see if they can cover the graffiti.

Today at 6:30am a woman jogging/walking was grabbed at Edgecliff Ave & Osceola by a man, aprox. 20 25 years old, wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, light blue pants & tennis shoes. He dragged her into the bushes, she thought he was going to rape her. She screamed, someone heard her, came over & the guy ran away.

Hi All,
Just sa thought, does anyone know how our home prices are doing?
I know of the website that gives a value but I'm not sure how acurate it is, does anyone know of any actual recent sales in Carey Ranch? I only know of one in Cal Crest which made an amount in the $260k's at auction .........rather low but it was put back onto the market 3 days later and then I was told the asking price...

For the past couple of days, we have been noticed that LADWP has been replacing the old yellowish street lights with some bright white LED lights. We saw the LED lights last night on Holiday Way - they light up the entire street!

We're big Costco fans in our household... a Cpstco is opening at the corner of San Fernando Road and Paxton on March 4th. 5 minute trip from Carey Ranch via freeway (5-118, off at San Fernando). Best part is they will have a Costco gas station.
